Cheap Airline Seats Are Harder To Find... Before Booking
The Wall Street Journal posted an article last week stating that cheap plane tickets are harder to find. This is because demand for travel is higher than at the same time last year, and airlines are reducing supply by cutting their flight schedules.
The article mentions a flyer named Dean Gordon who paid $606 for round-trip economy tickets between Miami and Los Angeles. This year, the same tickets are selling for $1,500 and his friends are suggesting he “wait a few months to see what happens.”
What could Dean do differently?
Waiting a few months to see what happens can be stressful because:
- Dean can’t schedule his hotel or Airbnb, and make any real concrete plans
- Dean will have to go out of his way to watch flight prices daily
- His flight price may continue going up
Instead of waiting, Dean could just:
- Book the tickets to Los Angeles today for $1,500 (directly through the airline)
- Upload his tickets to Sky Key
- Sky Key will automatically save him money if his flight price drops
How would Sky Key save Dean money?
As soon as Dean’s flight price goes below $1,500, Sky Key will ambush the new price and get him a refund or flight credit back for the difference (click here to learn more about how Sky Key works).
For example, if the same flight is selling for $1,200 in two weeks, Sky Key will save Dean $300. Sky Key will continue saving Dean money as the price of his tickets continue to drop. If the price drops to $950 in a month, Sky Key will save Dean an additional $250.
Why is Sky Key beneficial to Dean?
Sky Key completely simplifies Dean’s life and maximizes his savings:
- Instead of looking at flight prices for the next two months and trying to time the perfect moment to book his flight, Dean can simply 1) book his flight, 2) know Sky Key will save him money if the price of his flight drops
- Dean now has more time to do things he actually cares about
- He can use the refund/credit Sky Key gets him to reduce the cost of his next trip
How much will Sky Key save Dean?
It depends how often he travels, but Sky Key expects to save customers $57 per flight or about $120 on every other flight. Sky Key keeps customers on the same flight and in the same seats, and people only pay if they save. No savings, no fee.
For customers that hate manually uploading their tickets, they can sync their Gmail or Yahoo email account– once they sync, Sky Key automatically detects any tickets they book and automatically saves them money.
